Welcome to Ms. Chaumont's amazing fourth grade class!
I'm so excited you're here and we're going to do great things together this year. We focus on reading, math, being kind, and being excited about learning. If you have questions about anything or want to set up a conference message me on Class Dojo, email me at chaumoem@pwcs.edu, or call the Sinclair front office. We are doing incredible things in fourth grade.

Prince William County is recommending that students spend at least 1 hour per day on school work.  In addition, encore activities will also be posted weekly. Below is a suggested schedule but please keep reading! Remember that reading at least 20 minutes a day increases your vocabulary and words are power!

Suggested weekly review activities will continue to be posted each week by noon on Monday, so students can stay current in their learning! Please look at the choice boards in the 4th Grade Weekly Suggested Learning Activities link. Keep in mind, all activities are optional.  Students can complete as much as they would like.  Review activities are a mix of digital learning and activities that can be printed out or completed at home without a device!

During this unusual time you can check on my page for links and resources that you can use at home to review the material we have already covered in class this school year.
Please also continue to check ClassDojo and your email for updates from me and the county.  I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!  I miss everyone so much and can't wait to hear from you and see you all again!

What can I do to review or keep busy?
There are many great sites in your Clever account that you can access to review material we have already covered in class.  If you need help getting into your Clever please send me an email at chaumoem@pwcs.edu or send me a Dojo message.

Please also take the time to review the resources provided and suggested by PWCS: https://www.pwcs.edu/cms/One.aspx?portalId=340225&pageId=41506907

What can I access in my Clever account?
Math
IXL- I have added the IXL review skills document in the Files and Documents tab to the left of this webpage.
Khan Academy- once you are in you will have to activate your account.  Each of you already has one.  I have added the identifying decimals skills that you can review, or choose something else that would you like to review.
Dreambox- review any skills we have already done.  I suggest trying out some fractions and geometry practice!

Reading:
IXL- again I have added the IXL review skills document to the Files and Documents menu on the left.
Myon- there are tons of books, news, and videos that you can access.  Read a book and click on the journal tab to write a summary of what you read.  I can then go in and read your thoughts on the books. I have also added a few projects you can choose to complete in order to practice reading skills we've been working on.

VA Studies:
SOLPass- You can complete any review activities up to Reconstruction.  Most of you should have taken your VA Studies books home so you can reference that, or there are study guides for each of the units on SOLPass.
BrainPop- everyone has access right now.  You can watch any of the videos we have already watched in class and complete the quizzes if you would like.
Quizlet- *not in your Clever* You can go to https://quizlet.com/taylorkl1 and interact with any of the sets that Mrs. Taylor created for her class and others to use.
VA Trekkers- *Also not in Clever*  https://virginiatrekkers.com/ You can travel around Virginia with the Trekkers and learn more about some of the things we have already talked about.

What if I don't have my own device to use my Clever apps?
I've put up some resources in the "Files and Documents" section of this class webpage. Most of them are designed to be printed out and used, but some of them also include discussion prompts for talking about books, directions for completing creative projects, and other choices. If you need help accessing anything or have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me!

For everyone, PLEASE don't forget how important it is to read every day! I've been making time to read every single day and I've already finished a couple of books. When you finish a book -- take your picture with it and send it to me on Class Dojo!

As always, please send me a Dojo message or an email if you have any questions. I miss you all!
