As a part of the music curriculum, we will soon be learning to play the soprano recorder in music class. Students should bring their recorders back to school as soon as possible.  If a student does not have their own recorder,Sinclair has negotiated a special price on Yamaha soprano recorders for only $5.00 (regular price $9.99). For this price children will get a recorder, case, and fingering chart. Cash and checks made out to “Sinclair Elementary School” will be accepted. If your child already has a recorder, you may want to check whether it is appropriate for use in music class. If your child has a recorder made by Yamaha, Peripole, Tudor, or Aulos, it would be fine to bring to school. Most recorders sold in toy stores and dollar stores are cheaply made and do not sound very good musically.  If you have any questions about buying a recorder or about a recorder your child has, please e-mail me at foosedv@pwcs.edu or call me at (703) 361-4811.
